Welcome to the Modern Pottery Urn Store. Our shop has three different custom urn collections: infant / child urns, adult urns, and pet urns. You can navigate to these collections via the top navigation bar and / or the home page.

Within each collection our products are sorted by size and layout style. Starting with the extra small size and getting larger as your scroll further down the page. The various size will have each of the layout styles available for that collection. You can filter by size and layout style while viewing a collection.

To determine the appropriate urn size, we recommend asking your funeral home or crematorium for a volume recommendation. If that is not an option, you can measure the cremated remains with a ruler to calculate the cubic inches (length × width × height). Urn capacity is measured in cubic inches, not by the weight of the ashes.

Because ash volume can vary significantly, we are unable to accurately estimate the urn size you will need. Once you know the required capacity, you can use the size filters within each collection to view the available layout and design options for urns that meet your volume requirements.

We offer several different layout options for each of our collections. Our collections are sorted by size and then layout, as you scroll down the collections you will see the layout styles repeat, you can also filter on the side or top of the collection. You can filter by size and / or by layout for easy navigation to the product you need.

Infant / Child Urn Collection Layout Options Include:
Text only, footprints, ultrasounds, and handwritten note.

Adult Urn Collection Layout Options Include:
Text only and handwritten note.

Pet Urn Collection Layout Options Include:
Text only, paw or nose ink prints, and pet breed silhouettes.

Some of our layout styles have more layouts options within the personalization tool. If you see a layout style in a different collection feel free to use that layout for any other listing.

Once you are on the correct size and layout listing select 'personalize your custom urn here' button on the product page to choose glaze color, stamps, gold or no gold in the stamp, font choices, insert your custom text and upload images if applicable.

Glaze Color Options For Each Layout
For text, note, ink print, and ultrasound layouts you have your choice of glaze color. For images in full color the glaze color will be gloss white.

Adding Custom Text To The Personalization Tool
The custom text will not be visible until you have selected a font for the text. If you leave a line of text blank you may see a light slash on the preview, this slash is not added to your order.

Personalizing Each Side Of The Urn
You can navigate the front and back sides of the urn with the tabs at the top of personalization options.

Copyright Certification
You must certify that no text or images used in your customization include copyrighted material and that you have the rights to upload and use all personalization.

The Preview
This tool makes a preview so you can see the urn as you are designing it, and this preview gets saved with your order so we can use it for making your urn. Your layout may change slightly as we center and align the text, and remove the background from an image. More information on personalizing the urns is described in the next step.

Urn customization options include glaze color, stamps, gold or no gold in the stamp, font choices, your custom text and custom image if applicable. Suggestions for phrases can be found here. Every order must be personalized to include at least the glaze color and stamp choices.

Font Text Styles
We offer 11 different text style fonts. We have several different fonts sizes for each urn size. We do not allow for custom fonts. Text is printed with ceramic toner and is permanently fused to the glaze, the text is flat on the glaze.

Stamp Options
We offer 8 stamps and a "no stamp" option. We are not able to do custom stamps or more than one stamp. Stamps are impressed in the clay and can be with or without gold.

Glaze colors
We offer 12 glaze colors for our text, footprint, handwritten note, and ultrasound listings.
Gloss white is the only glaze color available for urns with an image printed in color. Our images are printed with ceramic toner that is fired permanently into the glaze. Our printer does not print white or very light grey, those colors would show the glaze color through the image.

Once you have customized the urn add the urn to your cart to check out.

Please review the layout as you make it and before adding it to your cart. After you have added the item to your cart you will not be able to revise your design. You can email us to let us know if you have a change request within 24 hours of ordering and we will let you know if the change is possible.

If you have anything you want us to know or have any questions you can leave them in the order note and we will address them when we begin working on your order. We will email you if we have any questions.

Share Cart

The share cart button is a feature that will email the design and cart to an email address that you choose and creates a shareable link. This is useful for grief and loss non-profits/ funeral home partners, or anyone that would like to pay for the urn for you.

Share cart allows one party to design and another party to purchase. The party that purchases the urn will get the shipping information and be contacted by us if we have any questions about your order. If you would like us to message the designing party instead please leave their email in the order notes when you check out.

You are only able to share one urn at a time with up to three add ons. If you need to share more than one urn you will need to design and send each one individually.

The share cart function uses pop-up windows, if you do not see the share cart check your pop-ups. The link that share cart creates is long because it contains all of the information for your order, do not shorten or remove anything from the share cart link to make sure everything works correctly.
